  • About Us


    Our founder Osman Effendi was born in 1850 in Kayseri. He began to work as apprentice to Hasan Aga, the famous master of sweets, at the age of 12. He learned his art from Hasan Aga and after 17 years of training he became a master and moved to Istanbul to produce and sell varieties of traditional Ottoman sweets. He started his own shop in Istanbul’s famous Pera district in 1879, where he offered varieties of Turkish Delight and Baklavas.     Osmanlizadeler Baklava is not just only nuts, phyllo and honey syrup. What makes us special is the years’ experience how we prepare layers of phyllo dough, separating them with melted butter and laying them in the pan. The top quality nuts we use in our baklavas, on each top. What makes us unique is making that many layers of phyllo for each baklava at same standard and quality. What makes us different is the best quality honey syrup we pour over the cooked baklava when baking.

  • Turkish Delight

    Lokum (Turkish Delight)

    Turkish Delight or as we call is lokum is a family of confections based on a gel of starch and honey. Osmanlizadeler Lokum doesn’t consist artificial preservatives. Our premium varieties consist largely of chopped pistachios, hazelnuts or walnuts bound by the gel where our traditional varieties are mostly gel flavored with rosewater, mastic, orange, pomegranate and lemon. Lokum comes from the word Halkum and also called Rahat Al-halkum (راحة الحلقوم) which means "Throat Comfort".
